Chicken wing wood species and their wood characteristics

J. Millettia laurentii de wild. (Leguminosae Millettia)

Foreign goods :Wenge

Trees and distribution : arbor, 15 m-29 m in height and 1.0 m in DBH. The main products are Cameroon, Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (Kinshasa), Gabon.

Macroscopic structural features Porous wood Sapwood Light yellow, obviously different from heartwood. Heartwood Dark brown, often with light stripes. Growth ring Not obvious. Tube hole It can be seen under the naked eye, obvious under the magnifying glass and scattered; Few, at least; Slightly larger. Axial parenchyma It is rich and obvious to the naked eye. It is mainly in the form of paratubal band or poly wing, slightly as wide or slightly narrow as the fibrous tissue band. Wood ray It's obvious under a magnifying glass. Ripple mark Not obvious. No aroma; The structure is fine to medium; The texture is usually straight (Fig. j.1).

Microstructure characteristics The main vessels were single tube holes, and a few of them were multiple tube holes (mostly 2-3); 1 / mm ²~ 9 / mm ²; It contains black or black brown gum with a maximum tangential diameter of 336 µ m. Average 197 µ m。 The pits between the tubes are arranged with each other, and the pits are attached to the tubes; Single perforation, the pit type between the catheter and the ray is similar to that between the tube and the ray. The axial parenchyma was paratubular (3-18 cells wide, most 10-15 cells) or poly pterygoid; Crystalloid cells were common in the cells; Overlapping. The wood fiber wall is thick and overlapped. Wood rays 5 / mm ~ 8 rays / mm; Overlapping. The number of monoclinic rays was less, 1-10 cells higher; The width of multi row rays was 2 ~ 5 cells (more than 2 ~ 4 cells) and the height was 7 ~ 19 cells. Trees and distribution : arbor, 7 m ~ 8 m high and 0.6 m DBH. The main products are Myanmar and Thailand.

Macroscopic structural features Porous wood Sapwood Light yellow, obviously different from heartwood. Heartwood Black brown or chestnut brown, often with light stripes. Growth ring Not obvious. Tube hole Visible to the naked eye, the number is small to a little less. Axial parenchyma It is rich and obvious to the naked eye. It is mainly banded or winglike, slightly as wide or narrow as the fibrous tissue band. Wood ray It's obvious under a magnifying glass. Ripple mark Not obvious. J.3   Ironwood   Senna siamca (Lam.) h.s.trwin & barneby

Foreign goods :Siamese senna

Trees and distribution : arbor, up to 20 high   m. The DBH can reach 0.4 M. The main products are India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Yunnan, Fujian, Guangdong and Guangxi of China.

Macroscopic structural features The sapwood is light yellow, which is different from heartwood. Heartwood chestnut brown or black brown, often with light stripes. The growth ring is not obvious. The tube hole is visible to the naked eye. The axial parenchyma is rich and obvious in the naked eye. It is mainly banded or winglike, with the width equal to or slightly wider than the fibrous tissue band. It can be seen under a wood ray magnifying glass. The ripple is not a rabbit. No aroma; The structure is fine to medium; Texture interlacing (Fig. j.5).
